The Females' Center of Exellence and Leadership, Inc. maintains a robust Internship and Volunteer Program offering challenging opportunities to support the planning, management and execution of programs and events that promote the advancement of women and girls of all backgrounds.

Quynh Nguyen, Development Manager

    Quynh is an Administrative Coordinator at Coldwell Banker, where she assists in marketing, recruitment, and project execution. Prior, she was an HR Staff Development intern at Hartford Hospital. At this position, she documented and arranged departmental funding.


    Quynh is passionate about the development of education, nonprofit, and healthcare. In summer 2012, she joined Project Vietnam to construct mobile health clinics that offer free healthcare check in the destitute regions of South Vietnam. After Project Vietnam, she worked with Gia Dinh Hospital to establish global connections with hospital's board members for future projects.


    Quynh graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences. Additionally, she volunteers for Hartford Hospital and Hartford’s Let's Get Ready. She is also a freelance legal document translator for the International Institute of Connecticut with fluency in Vietnamese.

Denisse Ocasio, myRetreat™ Program Manager

    Denisse Ocasio is a Customer Service expert cross-trained in several retail corporations in positions ranging from beauty adviser to pharmacy technician. An advocate of promoting personal customer service with on-site customers, Denisse was consistently lauded for exceeding merchandise sales goals. Her teamwork-focused approach to providing stellar customer service coupled with her dedication to perfecting personal customer service techniques has made her an astute problem solver in a myriad of challenging situations.


    Denisse holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University, and she is proficient in Spanish.

Deniz Aslan, LinkHer™ Program Manager

    Deniz (Aslan) Ozkan is passionate about strategic human resources management and employee and organization development. As a Learning Consultant for Travelers Insurance Company, Deniz analyzed training needs and evaluated trainings for a Leadership Development Program. Additionally, she designed and developed “Train the Trainer” program for subject matter experts to help them practice training development and delivery. Deniz was also a Research Intern at Horton International LLC, West Hartford, where she conducted candidate and business development researches.


    Deniz holds a Bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning and an MBA from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey. She also holds a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology degree from the University of Hartford.

Simone Reuther, Training Manager

    Simone is an enthusiastic, cross-trained professional with several years of experience in consulting and training. During the past years she has led and supported various change and development projects for different organizations. She has also developed, designed and facilitated a variety of target-group specific workshops, trainings and lectures for audiences including all levels of an organization.


    She is passionate about Organization Development and Training. Her special interests lie in the human side of change as well as in organizational culture and the way it influences learning and development in organizations.


    Simone holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Hartford and a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg (Germany).
