The Females' Center of Exellence and Leadership, Inc. offers various volunteer opportunities on our Board of Directors and Staff. We are currently accepting applications for the following positions. To apply, please complete the Volunteer Application.

Board of Directors Openings

Director

    An Xcel, Inc. Director is a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting The Females' Center of Excellence and Leadership, Inc. In collaboration with the President and members of the Board of Directors, each Director has responsibility to:


    - Provide oversight to ensure the proper administration of the affairs of Xcel; carry out its policies, financial administration, and programs; and exercise such powers and perform such acts as permitted by law, the Certificate of Incorporation, or Bylaws;

    - Serve as an ambassador for the organization and enhance its public standing;

    - Actively participate activities that ensure adequate funding to support its mission;

    - Appoint the directors of standing committee members, and such other board and committee members as may be designated;

    - Act for Xcel between meetings of the membership;

    - Provide oversight to ensure the implementation of mission-based programs that are consistent with Xcel’s strategic plan;

    - Adopt rules to govern its proceedings;

    - Establish task forces or special committees as needed;

    - Provide oversight for the publication of an annual report.


    PLEASE NOTE: Xcel, Inc. Board Dues are $250 annually.


Staff Openings

myRetreat™ Selection Committee Member

    Reporting to the myRetreat™ Program Manager, the Selection Committee Member supports the screening and selection of myRetreat™ scholarship awards. Responsibilities for this position include:


    - Have expert knowledge of MyRetreat™ Program policies and procedures

    - Review candidate applications and conduct in-person myRetreat™ interviews

    - Support selection of MyRetreat™ participants as well as Orientation Day activities
